About

What is Breakfast with the Guys?

Breakfast with the Guys (BWTG) is an initiative led by a coalition of organizations and businesses, dedicated to inspiring action and raising awareness to end domestic violence. It is more than just a breakfast, this event is about coming together to make a difference. For 14 years in Grande Prairie, BWTG has worked to improve the safety and well-being of our communities through education and engagement. Whether it’s your first time or you’re a regular, you’ll leave feeling empowered and motivated.

What to expect?

Upon arrival, enjoy a delicious breakfast, meet and mingle with others, and be inspired by our keynote speaker, who will share insights on men's mental health, healing, and resilience. This is a safe space to share experiences, connect with others, and engage in thoughtful conversations.

  • Former NHL Player

  • Hockey Coach

  • Mentor

  • World Changer

Brady Leavold's story has inspired hundreds of

thousands, with his online videos and in person speaking events. Brady's powerful story of recovery and his willingness to be vulnerable has opened the door for thousands of others to find their own inner strength and voice. Brady believes that a big part of the solution is people helping people. Empowering one person at a time to be vulnerable, showing others that they are never alone.

Brady is a former professional hockey player who struggled immensely with mental health and substance abuse issues that stemmed from early childhood trauma. Brady eventually found himself homeless on Vancouvers notorious downtown east side and after nearly a year on the street Brady found himself in behind bars, a place he never thought he could ever be. After over a decade in addiction Brady finally found hope and the strength to finally share his truth and has been recovering out loud, inspiring tens of thousands a long the way since February of 2020.

Mike Anderson

"Throughout my years of active participation aimed at engaging men and boys in ending domestic violence and gender-based violence as supportive bystanders, I have witnessed and personally been transformed by the power of collective action and empathy. By standing up against gender-based violence, we not only break the cycle of abuse but also promote healthier, more respectful relationships for a safer and more equitable society. Being a part of this movement has not only strengthened my commitment to ending violence but has also reinforced the belief that change is possible when we all stand together."
